Sarah Reichardt teaches graduate and undergraduate music theory. Reichardt's research focuses on the creation of meaning within musical works. Her work draws on a variety of critical approaches to meaning including semiotics, deconstruction and Lacanian psychoanalysis. She is working on a book on the reflection of the modern condition in the string quartets of Dmitri Shostakovich.
