Associate Director of Bands/Associate Professor of Music/Assistant Director and Coordinator of undergraduate studies Brian A. Britt is the newly appointed Associate Director of Bands and Director of the "Pride of Oklahoma" Marching Band at the University of Oklahoma. In this capacity he guides all aspects of the Pride including recruiting, teaching, charting drill, selecting shows, and administrative duties. Britt serves as Conductor of the OU Symphony Band, and assists with the other concert ensembles as well. He is actively involved in the music education program as a conducting professor and teaches Marching Band Techniques and Administration to upper-level music education students. Britt taught for nine years in the public schools of Oklahoma and Texas. His collegiate experience includes four years as the Associate Director of Bands at Stephen F. Austin State University and one year as Interim Associate Director of Bands at Texas Christian University. While at SFASU, Britt was Director of the Lumberjack Marching Band and had an extensive role in the music education program, teaching courses in instrumental methods, marching band techniques, and conducting.
