At OU, admission has always been based on talent and dedication alone. We believe that no student should be denied an OU education for want of funds. Making that conviction a reality, however, has become increasingly challenging as costs for education continue to rise. Nine out of ten OU students qualify for financial aid. To help meet this extraordinary need, many generous individuals, foundations and corporations contribute to scholarships. We invite you to join them. There are three very special ways to support student scholarships at OU. THE GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND NAMED SCHOLARSHIPS You can also establish a named current full-tuition scholarship, which will pay one student’s complete tuition for one academic year. These scholarships are awarded annually, for as long as the donor makes the resources available. Named scholarships may be restricted to students within a particular discipline: performance, composition, conducting or education. However, fewer restrictions on a donation will allow OU to respond to student needs as they arise each year.
ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS
Donors of named current or endowed scholarship awards receive several benefits, including a report about the scholarship recipient, invitations to performances at OU in which that student is featured, an invitation to OU’s annual Scholarship Donors’ Luncheon, a listing of the scholarship in the OU college catalog, as well as his/her own name listed in OU concert programs. All scholarship recipients are chosen by an OU committee of senior administrators and faculty members on the basis of need, as evaluated by the College Scholarship Service, as well as the students’ artistic merit and academic performance. Donors may not select recipients. Contributions to OU for scholarships are fully tax-deductible. For more information about scholarships at the OU School of Music, please call |
