Artist/Teacher of Voice with completed doctorate or equivalent professional performing experience: Significant teaching experience at the University level; Strong recruiting ability and commitment to standards of excellence.
Established national and/or international stature as vocal pedagogue and/or peformer; demonstrated dynamic leadership ability with successful experience as the chair/head of a university voice department/area; experience structuring curriculum, strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and program building skills; ability to maintain an active profile as a performer; demonstrated success in the area of recruitment and retention; thorough knowledge of areas related to voice instruction, such as vocal pedagogy, vocal repertoire, foreign languages; experience in the successful mentoring of masters and doctoral students, including guidance of the document writing process.
Chair the Voice Area; teach applied voice to undergraduate and graduate students; actively recruit; teach related courses such as diction, vocal pedagogy, vocal literature; serve on committees as assigned by the Director of the School of Music; maintain active profile as performer both at the University and elsewhere; guide graduate students throughout completion of masters and doctoral degrees, including document projects.
